This 1909 structure dates from the same year as the Palace, offering the same period character, though on a much more intimate scale. The rooms are quite well standardized, with the hefty differences reflecting location and exposure. Limited glimpses of the Financial District and Chinatown are the best views one can hope for in the standard rooms, but the quieter interior units overlook the garden courtyard. Some rooms are a long but elegant walk from public areas. The rejuvenated Ritz-Carlton Club rooms on the top floors are expensive indeed, but they do offer plenty of enticements, including Continental breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails and nibbles on an ongoing basis.
